Hello again Simon ~ please take absolutely no notice of that very negative quotation! (No wonder the author is Unknown!!)
I was so interested to read about your visit to Rouen ~ yet another place I'd love to see for myself. I'm so pleased that you're now feeling better & walking more easily :-)
Here's an ENCOURAGING song for walking to: (Sorry it's not Biblical ...) Sorry also if I'm the thousandth person to have quoted it!;-)
"Keep right on to the end of the road,, Keep right on to the end; Though the way be long let your heart beat strong, Keep right on round the bend; Though you're tired & weary, still carry on Till you come to your happy abode; Then (something-something-something) Will be there ~ at the end ~ of the road."
I'm a 46 year old husband, father of two and vicar in the parish of Oadby, Leicestershire. Between Easter and Pentecost in 2009 I walked home from Paris to Oadby - a peculiar kind of pilgrimage.

Walking Home is now available as a 282 page book, in print and digital download.
Walking Home 2009
The route was 540 miles, from Paris where Jennifer and I honeymooned in 1986, to Oadby where I live and work today. It's a bit wiggly because friends, family, significant places and affordable accomodation don't fall on a straight line. Click here for a larger view.
