Another great read following your days walking; thanks! Worship group met yesterday evening and we both missed and remembered you. We are going to print out your journey thus far so that St. Paulites can read it on Sunday. Hugh is going to give a 5 minute or so talk from the front for those who don't blog (can't blog, won't blog!). Pity we can't log on to your live blog but I won't ask for the code for your wireless network!!! Well, that is one stage of your pilgrimage over - some hard walking, some rare encounters and a lot of encouraging reading for us following you. It's great stuff - keep it up and we'll look forward to hearing your next despatch from Blighty! Take care.
Well done Simon - you've made it to Le Havre!!! What an amazing achievement. Hope the leg is better - still suggest you see someone about it but it's obviously your call!! I've checked the net and there are quite a few Health Centres in Portsmouth and a drop-in place also. Nag, nag, nag!!!!
Beinvenue en Angleterre! Trust the Mini cruise was smooth sailing and you had a well deserved rest! Expect a 'rush' of positive vibes and good wishes flowing over you from all of us at St Paul's on Sunday morning..good to have you safely back in the UK. Sue
I'm a 46 year old husband, father of two and vicar in the parish of Oadby, Leicestershire. Between Easter and Pentecost in 2009 I walked home from Paris to Oadby - a peculiar kind of pilgrimage.

Walking Home is now available as a 282 page book, in print and digital download.
Walking Home 2009
The route was 540 miles, from Paris where Jennifer and I honeymooned in 1986, to Oadby where I live and work today. It's a bit wiggly because friends, family, significant places and affordable accomodation don't fall on a straight line. Click here for a larger view.
